Port Glasgow 10k

Terms and Conditions

 

  1. To register for the Port Glasgow 10K, you must be 15 years of age or older on race day.
  2. All fees are payable at registration and are non-refundable and cannot be deferred towards a future event.
  3. The Port Glasgow 10k is not a road race, it involves running on pavements adjacent to roads and footpaths- only cross roads at designated road crossing points.
  4. Participants are required to give way to other road users and pedestrians.
  5. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are content for any footage or photographs taken during their participation in the Port Glasgow 10k to be used to publicise the Port Glasgow 10k.
  6. Participants must be fit enough to run or walk 10k for entry to the event. Any medical conditions must not preclude you from doing so.
  7. Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel, security officers and officials throughout the duration of the event.
  8. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event.
  9. Every participant shall be provided with an event bib number, which shall be conspicuously worn on the front during the event. The event bib number is to be worn as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number.
  10. All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of the race number, which must be worn on the front of their shirt during the race.
  11. Baby joggers, baby strollers, skateboards, Nordic sticks, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles or any other wheeled device, with the exception of wheelchairs, will not be permitted on the course.
  12. Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official, city official or course marshal, or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified at the discretion of race officials.
  13. Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the race (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event.
  14. In accordance with UKA rules, the wearing of headphones is not permitted.
  15. Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage.
  16. All information provided will be solely for the purposes of administering the run and will be managed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations. Results will be posted on the event web page and social media.
